Kungwe Beach Lodge is situated on the shores of Lake Tanganyika on the western border of Mahale Mountains National Park – one of the most remote areas in Africa, giving visitors a true sense of wilderness. Kungwe has ten safari-style tented rooms, all spread out along the beach and overlooking the lake.

The lodge will undoubtedly be in a stunning location and it offers a slightly cheaper alternative to other lodges in the area. It will most likely be adventurous yet comfortable and the opportunities to go and see the Chimpanzees make this a fantastic place to stay. Having said that, the travel costs of getting over to the Mahale Mountains National Park remain high, and so despite Kungwe offering lower cost accommodation in the area, it remains one of the more expensive destinations in Tanzania.
