Seated in the centre of Katavi National Park, Katuma Bush Lodge started as a very simple tented camp, but has gradually developed into a luxury operation. It enjoys the same sweeping views over the Katisunga plains as Foxes’ Katavi Wildlife Camp, which is located a few kilometres away.

Overall, our views of Katuma Bush Lodge were a little mixed. It was certainly a very well-designed camp – both comfortable and stylish – but the swimming pool and Presidential Suite did seem out of place in such a remote and dry park. The majority of visitors come here for a real off-the-beaten-track adventure and the comforts on offer here seemed a little at odds with that experience.
