Deception Valley Lodge is a pristine oasis deep in the Kalahari Desert of Botswana with over 200 bird species and not far from the famous Okavango Delta.
The Bushmen people were the first inhabitants in Southern Africa and have survived for the past 20 000 years in this arid region. At the Deception Valley Lodge you will meet the real traditional Bushmen from the Naro tribe. Listen to the Naro language, the first written Bushmen language that contains 37 different clicks.
If you take the San Experiences, the guests will depart after Tea from the Main Lodge at Deception Valley Lodge. Let your San guides show you how to experience the tracking and survival skills of the San people. Let them show you how they gather their food and how successful they are at hunting with their poisoned arrows.
Spend a night in the wild, at a traditional San village, where you will have supper the way the San prepare their food. Accommodation for the night will be in a San hut. Light snacks in the morning before walking back to the main lodge where you will have a full Brunch at 10h30.
The Deception Valley Lodge in the Central Kalahari can be enjoyed with ($450 per person per night) or without the San experience ($370 per person per night). These rates available between 1 December 2010 and 31 March 2011.
